Return to ALMA Memo List
ALMA Memo Submission
Starting August 1996, the primary means of memo distribution
will be electronic. We will send abstracts to electronic memo
subscribers when a new memo is available. A postscript file of
the memo can be obtained by replying to the mail
message, or can be viewed with a web browser. Hard
copies will still be mailed to people who want them.
Why do we want to do this?
This change in memo policy impacts you, the memo author.
What you need to submit
Memo Abstract
You must submit a completed abstract form, which includes title,
author, and the memo abstract. The abstract which is mailed
to the subscribers is generated from the abstract form.
Memo Formats
The format in which you submit the memo will depend upon a few details:
-
If your memo has no figures or equations, please use plain ASCII.
-
If your memo has figures or equations and you use LaTeX, please send us
the LaTeX file and postscript figures.
-
In order to produce good PDF and a single postscript file,
you should follow these
LaTeX guidelines
or download the LaTeX Guidelines from
here
-
View our LaTeX Memo Template,
or download the LaTeX Memo Template from here
-
The newer versions of Word Perfect or Microsoft Word
provide an easy translation into PDF. If you use one of these
packages, please generate the PDF version yourself and let us know
how we can get it via FTP. .
-
If you can't provide us with ASCII, LaTeX, PDF, or PostScript, talk to us
at alma-memos@nrao.edu.
How to Submit ALMA Memos
Please e-mail the ASCII memo abstract and the memo in ASCII, LaTeX
with postscript figures, PDF, or PostScript, to alma-memos@nrao.edu. Alternatively,
you could place the ALMA memo materials in a public FTP area and send
instructions for retrieving the files.
